Our Tale
Our building is a timeless pillar of the Seal Cove Inlet. Originally opened in 1885 by the McLaughlin Brothers as a general hardware store, it has since seen many faces. It has been the village post office, a local watering hole, a hub of tourism, and a spot for locals to enjoy a hearty home-cooked meal until the doors closed in 2017 with the beds upstairs still made. For years, you could feel something missing in town.

We opened those doors again.

The location has always been a family business. The Martin’s now keep that spirit alive with Tides Inn and Social, a new destination in the heart of Seal Cove. Our family and friends are dedicated to preserving the history of Grand Manan, while creating something fresh and spirited. This island deserves a place with open doors, cozy rooms, and passion.

Our dream is of a place for all to feel welcome, for all to have great company, for all to come together with good music and even better food…

And every day, that dream has become reality. Just come and see.
